Installed device using IRQ...due to Phoenix BIOS fails to recognize IRQ 7.
Cause:
Defective Phoenix BIOS version does not recognize the interrupt requests from IRQ 7.
Solution:
In the 'Control Panel' window, double-click the 'System' icon and click the 'Device Manager' tab. Double-click the 'Computer' icon and assign a new interrupt to the device.
CAUTION: The following procedure will expose the computer internal circuitry to electrostatic discharge and possible damage. It should be performed by a qualified computer technician.
1) Click the 'Start' button to display the 'Start' menu.
2) Select 'Settings' and select 'Control Panel'. (The 'Control Panel' window appears.)
3) Double-click the 'System' icon. (The 'System Properties' dialog box appears.)

4) Click the 'Device Manager' tab. (The 'Device Manager' tabbed page appears.)
5) Select the 'Computer' icon.
6) Click 'Properties'. (The 'Computer Properties' dialog box appears.)
7) Select the 'Interrupt request (IRQ)' radio button. (The 'Computer Properties' dialog box appears and displays the interrupt numbers and device names.)

8) Record which interrupts are not assigned, and click 'OK'.
9) Perform one of the following, depending upon whether the device is a legacy or a plug-and-play device:
a) Legacy device (where the interrupt must be selected by a jumper):
1] Turn off the computer and disconnect power cables.
2] Observe electrostatic discharge precautions when performing the following steps:
3] Reconnect power cables and turn on the computer.
4] Run a program that uses the adapter card to verify operation.
b) Plug-and-play device:
1] In the 'System Properties' dialog box, select the 'View devices by type' radio button.
2] Double-click the device to expand the list of components.
EXAMPLE: Double-click 'Sound, video and game controllers' to expand the list of multimedia devices on the computer.
3] Select the device and click 'Properties'. (The '<device> Properties' dialog box appears, where <device> is the name of the selected device.)
4] Click the 'Resources' tab. (The 'Resources' tabbed page appears.)
5] Select 'Interrupt Request' from the 'Resource Settings' list box.
6] Clear the 'Use automatic settings' check box. (The check mark disappears.)
7] Click 'Change Setting...'. (The 'Edit Interrupt Request' dialog box appears.)

NOTE: If the 'No Modifications Allowed' dialog box appears, the interrupt settings cannot be changed. Click 'OK' and proceed to step 10).
8] Select the desired interrupt by clicking the up- or down-arrow next to the 'Value' box. (The available interrupts appear.)

9] Click 'OK' to close the 'Edit Interrupt Request' dialog box.
10] Click 'OK' to close the '<device> Properties' dialog box (where <device> is the name of the selected device). (The confirmation box appears.)
11] Click 'Yes' to change the interrupt.
12] Click 'OK' to close the 'System Properties' dialog box.
13] Select the 'File' menu and select 'Close' to close the 'Control Panel' window.
